Don Emilio Sader arrived in Punta del Este in 1911. He originally opened a department store, Casa Sader, that became, in those days, the gathering site for summer visitors and vacationers and the focal point for many of the people who developed Punta as a summer resort.

The activities of the Sader family intimately cemented relationships with the founders of Punta relationships which continue to this day, among succeeding generations. In one word: Sader maintains an uninterrupted association with summer visitors and Punta residents since 1911.

Sader expanded into the real estate and property development business early on, building the Nogaró Hotel in 1936 and later the Playa Hotel in 1941. Luis Sader was one of the original founders of Safema (1972) and later Sabalo (1985), two of the most important development companies responsible for several luxury condominium buildings gracing the landscape of Punta del Este.
